Responsibility

How much responsibility do you take for your own successes and failures?

I subscribe to Bob Proctor’s Six Minutes to Success and recently he was talking about the 11 characteristics of great leaders as stated by Napolean Hill in Think and Grow Rich. In the particular video I was watching, Bob Proctor talked about the 10th characteristic – a willingness to assume full responsibility.

He said there are two kinds of responsibility, being responsible to someone or something and being responsible for someone or something. We are responsible to others, our customers or employers for example to give our best, but we can never be responsible for others. Neither can we hold other people responsible for us.

Bob Proctor says that responsibility is the key to freedom. If we blame others for our problems or lack of success then we have made ourselves victims of things and people we cannot control. Once we decide to take responsibility for our own actions, our own successes and failures, then we have the ability to change them for the better. You can’t change the world but you can change yourself.

What would you like to improve? Finances, health, happiness. What are you going to take responsibility for today and change for the better?

Chasing The Best Home Based Business

January 9th, 2010

A lot of people jump from one network marketing company to another in pursuit of the best home based business. The only problem with that is that there is no “best home based business”. What would the criteria be when everybody is different?

While there isn’t an overall best home based business that meets everyone’s requirements, there probably is one for you that meets just your requirements. Instead of always looking for the latest and greatest, look for something that you enjoy, something that satisfies your interests. If you are with a network marketing company that is in alignment with your passions then you will be more successful in selling product and finding people to join your team.

You don’t have to chase a pre-launch, ground-floor opportunity to be successful in network marketing. Some people still consider Nikken, the company I am with, a ground-floor opportunity because less than 1% of people in the US have heard of the company even though they have been around for 35 years and in the US for 20. Statistically speaking, new businesses have a high failure rate whether they are network marketing companies or any other, so if high risk is OK with you then a new company may be right. On the other hand, if you are looking for a stable opportunity then you should probably look at better established companies.

The compensation plan always factors pretty high in people’s requirements for a network marketing opportunity. Some are binary, some are unilevel, and most are a mix of different things. They can get pretty complex. Find a company that has a plan that you can understand. You need to know how you make money with your new business. Nikken has a pretty simple compensation plan that rewards retail sales of product, recruiting people into your team, and helping your people recruit people into their teams.

I elaborated on some of these points in a post on my network marketing blog site.

To find out more about Nikken, a 35 year old Japanese wellness company now located in Irvine, CA, you can see my site or take a look at the Nikken site.

Nikken is having a sale

December 12th, 2009

Nikken has two excellent promotions going on right now.

Until December 18 they are offering a 15% discount on orders over 300 volume, which translates to most orders over $400. This is a great chance to try out some of Nikken’s more expensive products at a big savings. Air filters, water filters, and the Biaxial Body Energizer are items that immediately qualify for the savings. This is only good for phone orders on currently offered items (not the discontinued items or new sleep products).

For the rest of the month, Nikken has reduced discontinued items by 25%. That is a huge savings for you. This includes the stainless steel and titanium magnetic bracelets, the older magnetic mattress pads and pillows, the detoxifying cleanse, and twin packs of medium-sized magnetic insoles (a pair of MagSteps and a pair of MagStrides).

These offers are not available online so you will have to contact me. My contact info is at the website, http://www.getmywellness.com where you can also see a little about the product.

I also described the offers in a little more detail here.

Why Do Some People Fail in MLM?

December 4th, 2009

There are a lot of people who have tried to build a network marketing business and failed. When they do, they write off network marketing as a scam and say that it doesn’t work.

If that’s the case, then why do some people do very well and become very wealthy?

I believe that the biggest reason is that most people treat it more like a hobby than as a business.  In a lot of cases people will get all caught up in the hype of a hotel meeting and join without really understanding what it is that they got themselves into.

So, how do you avoid becoming another failure in network marketing? Treat it like a real business.

Magnetic Mattress Pad from Nikken

December 3rd, 2009

My first experience with Nikken was with the Ultra Kenko Pad.  A massage therapist friend invited us to a Wellness Home Preview and we were allowed to borrow the magnetic mattress pad for a week to see what we thought of it.  The short version of the story is that we ended up joining Nikken and highly recommend both the product and the business.
